The next pitch, sometimes called the “Block” pitch, goes up and right over a series of dangerous blocks that require care to negotiate. After that a long and circuitous pitch leads to the classic Peanut Ledge, a great bivy spot not to be missed. The pitch above Peanut ledge starts out with some big flakes that can be free climbed but most parties bring the big cams to negotiate the passage on aid. Higher on the pitch, a traverse out of a small cave, passing over a sharp edge, leads to the belay.
