ASK A CLIMBER

El Capitan draws climbers from around the world for it’s rich history and spectacular 3,000′ walls. The Ask-A-Climber program gives park visitors an opportunity to learn more about the world of Big Wall Climbing through conversation with experienced Climbing Rangers and Climber Stewards.

When: Everyday, mid-May to mid-October 12:30 pm – 4:30 pm

Climber Trails

With an estimated 150,000 climbers visiting Yosemite each year, approach and descent trails to popular cliffs and boulders see millions of footsteps each year. The Climber Trails Program protects Yosemite’s natural landscape and improves the climber experience by delineating, reinforcing, and restoring access trails with the help of passionate volunteers.

Where: In 2015 Climber Trails is focusing on Puppy Dome in Tuolumne Meadows and the El Cap approach
