Rockfall – West of Camp 4

Between Wednesday, August 3rd and Friday, August 5th, seven significant rock fall events occurred just west of Camp 4. Because of the continuing activity, the NPS is temporarily recommending avoiding the Valley Loop Trail from the west end of Camp 4 to where it crosses North Side drive.

Climbing areas within the recommended closure area include all boulders in the Titanic Boulder area, and the Good Book.

Routes on the Camp 4 Wall, including Doggie Do, Doggie Deviations and Henley Quits are east of the rockfall but extreme caution on the approach is advised.

Rixon’s Pinnacle is west of the activity but it is highly advised that climbers avoid routes on this formation and the general area.
